![]() ![]() Oblivious/Sound Sleeper + Shield of Hope: shield of hope is underrated.this character is basically unkillable as long as you keep morale high. This one combines well with the Civilized/Top Seller guy as a starting combo.Ĭalm Under Fire + Natural Shot: starts with 4/7 shooting, goes to 9/7 shooting with enough training opportunities, and high composure is a nice skill to have in a lot of events. bad wits and slow movement speed, but not slow enough to really be an issue, and low wits can end up helping you as often as it hurts you, so long as you have at least one high wits character in the party. Resilient Type + Big Bruiser: starts with 5 health and punches that are better than most starting weapons. And since such events and camps tend to give you chances to boost stats or get special items, this combo tends to pay off massively the longer you keep him around, eventually boosting his own stats so much from rare events that his crap starting stats are irrelevant. Allows you to buy your way out of a lot of problems.Ĭity Seeker + Explorer: useless at almost everything early on, but if you can keep him alive, he'll consistently provide massive boosts to the chances of rare traders and events, while also making it much cheaper to reroll looting stops to give you an even better chance of finding said events. interesting.Civilized + Top Seller: a great support character who increases your food count and minimizes your morale hits from paying off bandits. So it's possible to reroll them to get useful double personalities. My fierce temper'd can rob people but isn't paranoid. Whoops, there went my winstreak due to getting a Despair siege >.>Įdit:Definitely random per custom character. ![]() The one downside is that having a party full of awful personality characters for their bonuses, can actually give you trouble with some events or keeping morale up. I'll be trying out Fierce Temper to see about it doubling on paranoid, soon. If it does vary per character, just means shuffling a few times until it works. (And keeps it relevant when a bunch of people can be angrystrong :V) And in addition to angrystrong, Fierce Temper can be paranoid, which makes it actually really nice. So, Frantic Whiner also robs people and gets Angrystrong benefits with good strength. Okay, I haven't tested if it varies per character, but your custom characters will always have the same personality at start, barring you choosing Mysterious Past or something, but that's obviously random. I'm not sure if custom character stats randomize or if you can reliably have a Fierce Temper with paranoia, Whiner with robbery, etc. If there's a way to get it Cool It from any other personality trait, or for Irritating to have another trait bonus (like how whiner and temper can), that might have potential. I hear sometimes Fierce Temper people are paranoid too, which could be really good (two in one!) and my Frantic Whiner can also rob people.Ĭool It is also really powerful, so Irritating can be good, but I haven't personally tried one- I just get it from my Berserk/Bruiser. Once you get a little more used to the game, you can mix it up and try using the other ones out. Warrior/Ultrafit is a really good fighter from the get go but it's not as reliable for upgrading since they can't use any fitness increase, so I recommend it just in your custom roster so you might get to recruit them mid-game. ![]() If your run is going strong that's often not a problem. Lots of bonuses (sorta OP!), but moves slow and gets bogged down and killed by zombies easily if something bad happens. Very high starter stats for recruiting mid-run too. This also lets you Cool It, rob people, and get Fierce Temper for events. Oooor, you can min/max and use Berserk/Bruiser so you get benefits of berserk, with 2 hp still, at the cost of being slow. IMO you should always start with a good zombie killer until you really know what you're doing, which means Warrior with Athlete or Martial Artist (overmaxing fitness is quite neat, but they need someone else for guns or chainsaws) ![]() Go for whatever perk you like one with more support ability, or Ultrafit to make 'em decent at fighting. Paranoid is great for event solving too, if you don't want to use Civilized- and has bad loyalty so it's great for pairing with someone who can rob people. Start as Surgeon if you want lots of medical (and shooting on the side- train it up for more event solving power as they'll get Calm Shooter trait), or use ultrafit/athlete for better zombie killing ability. Once you're familiar with events it's generally easy to keep morale up, and they get Charming too for lots of bonuses. Civilized is godlike as long as you aren't planning on robbing people. ![]()
